We have the results of how much was raised on the Andy Simm classic tour for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
This year we raised a fantastic, incredible, unbelievable:
That is the most we have ever raised – by quite some margin.
For us to reach this amount, Mary from the Abbey tea rooms donated all of the breakfasts and her time, her staff also wanted to work for free so they could donate even more. The Abbey tea rooms have donated a whooping £246 this year, that is outstanding. We cannot thank Mary and her staff enough for opening the doors early to get us all fed, watered and on our way again by 10am. If you are ever around the Glastonbury area and feeling a bit parched, please pop in and see Mary as she runs a great little cafe.
Thank you to all of you who entered this year, we hope you enjoyed it and for those of you who missed the meal at the end, we had an award for the best car of the day and that we to:
Simon Parkes with his immaculate Austin Healey 3000.
I am sure you will agree that the route packs which had to be totally re done the night before were brimmed with information and points of interest throughout the route, this was done by Dave McEwan and family so a big thanks must go to them. We got booked up this year within two weeks of the regs going out, we had a full entry of 82 people and 41 cars, it is proving to be a very popular event.
Here is a little video of some of the cars which came on the day:
This is a video of the gaggle of Porsche’s which all went together:
Thank you once again for all of your support, it means a great deal to all of us at Burnham Motor Club and we hope to see you on next years event.
Kris and Natalie.
